We’re very excited about this filly!
We bred our top-producing Champion mare, Odalisca GF to 2016 Reserve National Champion Andalusian Senior Stallion Lebrijano LIV for what is sure to be a dynamic, high-quality pure Spanish mare! CDC Elegáncia de Brio was born on June 25, 2019, and earned her name because of her elegant and graceful beauty. She truly is a living work of art!
Odalisca’s show career began in 2005, when she dazzled folks in the Pacific Northwest by sweeping show after show and earning the Pacific Rim High Point Purebred Andalusian Horse of the Year honors. At the IALHA National Championships that year, she was named the Reserve National Champion Spanish Senior Mare, while at the Canadian National Show she won National Champion or Reserve National Champion in halter each year she was shown as well as English Pleasure Champion.
Odalisca took a break from the show ring for a few years to start her breeding career, gracing us with several top-quality colts and fillies.
In 2012, Odalisca returned to the show ring with a vengeance, capturing the Canadian National Champion Senior Mare and Canadian National Champion English Pleasure titles and the IALHA National Champion Saddle Seat Open title, as well as earning a Top Five in the IALHA National Championships Working Equitation, Speed Phase, in a very competitive field of 13. In 2016, her offspring (CDC Memoria and CDC Corazon) earned her the National Champion Produce of Dam title.
Odalisca was bred by Gremlan Farms in Bakersfield, California and started by legendary horse trainer Vaughan Smith. She has incredible natural action and is one of the most athletic horses I have ever known. Odalisca is a proven broodmare. Her foals have gone on to win Championship titles in Dressage (CDC Abrazo), Driving (CDC Memoria), Working Equitation (CDC Memoria and CDC Corazón), Hunt Seat Pleasure (CDC Corazón),, Country English Pleasure (CDC Memoria), and Halter (CDC Memoria and CDC Corazón).
Lebrijano LIV was imported from Spain and was making his name in the dressage arena with owner/trainer Sarah Kress. The two were crowd favorites at Expos and Demonstration rides as well as in the dressage court. When Lebrijano passed away unexpectedly, we were so glad to be able to send Elegáncia to Sarah so she can still have a piece of her heart horse moving forward.
